Hull Design

The modern V design makes for excellent sea-keeping qualities, deep-vee entry for a comfortable, dry ride at speed.

The large under-floor buoyancy chamber is foam-filled to give buoyancy even if the hull is holed.

The generous cockpit makes the Kingfisher 166 ideal for sea angling, diving, family fun or even use as a fast work boat.

The hull is constructed to Lloyds' specification using only Lloyds' approved materials. It incorporates a 12 inches deep solid hardwood inner keel for exceptional strength and rigidity, longitudinal hull reinforcing to provide trailer loadings, and additional strength in the bows for dry recovery to a trailer. The hull also carries our two-year warrantee against defective materials and workmanship.

The windows are of polycarbonate and are fitted using the finest rubber edging to ensuring a strong dry and well fitted finish to resist wave impact, an essential feature for seaworthiness.

The Kingfisher 166 is equipped with a heavy duty stainless steel bow roller and a foredeck bollard which are accessed for safety from within the cuddy, through an opening front hatch. Access is gained for anchor stowage through the bow locker which is dropped into storage compartment built into the bows area of the cuddy.
